Gault&Millau: Marco Westra is host of the year!

Marco Westra, the maître of restaurant Hemel & Aarde, was awarded ‘Host of the Year’ at the Gault & Millau Awards 2024, a great achievement! Team Hemel & Aarde maintains an impressive score of 14.5 points, which makes us very proud!

A tribute to the seasons

Under the influence of the sun, the moon and the stars, the earth offers us different things every day. At restaurant Hemel & Aarde (Dutch for Heaven & Earth), this never-ending natural cycle is our source of inspiration. Experience our restaurant and a world will open up for you.

You will find our restaurant in the former Polman’s Huis, under the same roof as Hotel The Nox. We are open for dinner from Tuesday to Saturday. On friday we are open for lunch.

Our menu

Chef Rene van der Weijden and his team cook with respect for nature. The menu is determined by what the earth has to offer at the time. All day every day. We use regional products and natural processes, such as fermentation. We love a nice piece of meat or fish in the menu, but mainly focus on vegetables. And we process the products we use down to the last scrap.

Our dinner menu offers a choice of 5 or 7 courses. For lunch, we servce 3, 4 or 5 courses. We also offer a choice of dishes for almost every course, of which at least one is a vegetarian dish. Unfortunately, our current menu can not be ordered as a vegan menu.

Private Dining

Adjacent to the wine cellar you can find our Private Dining, an attractive vaulted space that is suitable for dinners, meetings and presentations with a private character. The room has a large table with a capacity of 20 people (corona seating: max. 8 people). In addition, the room has audiovisual facilities for presentations and meetings. The Private Dining also has its own entrance on the Kromme Nieuwegracht, which can only be reached by boat.
